Danny Prosser Benefit
I have had the flu for 2 days and it couldn't have come at a worse time for me. Today was the gig for Danny Prosser at the Westport Trainwreck and we were scheduled to play a set, which we did. But I had/have a real nice little fever and got out of bed at the last minute just to do the show and then hustled back home to bed so I missed several of the bands that followed us. The fever made me pretty weak so my playing left a little to be desired but i guess i wasnt horrible but I wanted to be at my best and I wasnt.

It's been about a year since this was held for Danny and Harold Draper called a few weeks back and told me that Danny had passed away suddenly. I guess all the treatments he had to go through just overwhelmed him and he caught an infection and that and other things were more than he could handle. i didn't know Danny but I got to meet him and he was a funny guy that was full of life and he was a great performer. I have spent my whole life playing music and i have never come close to being the showman he was. I am so grateful to Greg Bishop for giving me and my band the chance to play at this benefit for him. If there is anything good to be taken form this I think it was that Danny had to realize how much he meant to so many people and how much he was loved and how much his friendship was valued by Greg, Harold, and so many other people. Many of us will never have that. It must have meant a lot to him.
Sleep well and rest in wonderful peace Danny. It was an honor to meet you.
